On May 1st, the ambitious new attraction at Pororo Park in Incheon Wolmido, ‘Pororo & Tayo Content Theme Park in Wolmido’ (hereafter ‘Pororo Theme Park Wolmido’), is expecting to surpass approximately 50,000 visitors within a month of opening, coinciding with the peak season of Family Month.
Pororo Theme Park Wolmido had a spectacular opening weekend during Children’s Day week, attracting over 10,000 visitors. Designed as the only theme park in Korea featuring various empathy-based content that the whole family can enjoy together, it has proven high customer satisfaction and currently anticipates around 50,000 visitors as it approaches its one-month anniversary. The park aims to reach a cumulative total of 1 million visitors by 2026 by continuously offering more refined content.
Spanning 4,200 pyeong (approximately 13,860 square meters) indoors from the 2nd to the 5th floor, Pororo Theme Park Wolmido is the largest of its kind in Korea. Under the main theme of ‘empathy,’ it offers a total of 33 empathy play zones where parents and children can enjoy together, various indoor attractions, and diverse performances. Since its opening, visitors’ voluntary endorsements and word-of-mouth have spread through SNS channels, establishing a dominant presence in the indoor kids’ theme park market.
Additionally, the ‘Aqua Play Zone,’ created through a partnership between Pororo Park Wolmido and Samsung Electronics AI Bespoke Combo, provides a fun space where children can develop imagination through water play and understand scientific principles using water. The zone offers top-quality water management and well-designed water play programs along with high-standard maintenance services. Given the nature of water play facilities where clothes often get wet, the park has implemented a costume rental system that covers laundry, drying, storage, and allergy care, paying meticulous attention to hygiene management.
To commemorate the opening of Pororo Theme Park Wolmido, special promotions were held in collaboration with ‘Gmarket’ and ‘GS25.’ The 100-won deal event on Gmarket attracted about 6,000 pre-registrants and caused a rush immediately upon opening, sparking a buying frenzy even before the park’s launch.
Moreover, the prize event jointly held by Pororo Theme Park Wolmido and GS25, originally planned for a month, ended early after just 10 days, drawing significant attention. Through this event, customers who purchased promotional products at approximately 17,000 GS25 convenience stores nationwide could participate and receive limited-edition Pororo goods and free or discounted admission tickets to Pororo Park randomly, showcasing special products commemorating Family Month.
