LG Uplus will air a new slogan introduction advertisement that conveys the meaning of "leading the growth of customers and the company through AI Transformation (AX)." It is the first advertisement in Korea made entirely with AI-generated video.
On the 24th, LG Uplus announced that it will air an advertisement promoting the newly announced slogan this month, 'Growth Leading AX Company.' The slogan focuses on digital transformation (DX) using AI and signifies leading the value that MZ generation customers enjoy and the major theme of "growth" for corporate customers (B2B).
LG Uplus produced the advertisement to emphasize the meaning of the new slogan and to enhance the image of an AX company. The advertisement depicts customers growing through LG Uplus's telecommunication services and AI technology.
This advertisement is the first TV commercial in Korea made solely with AI-generated video. It utilized various AI programs, including LG Uplus's proprietary AI technology called 'ixi,' without any filming equipment, models, or location scouting.
The advertisement used over 8,300 AI-generated sources and 200,000 frames to visually represent technologies such as autonomous driving, smart cities, and quantum-resistant encryption. Effects like the "morphing effect," where a child naturally transforms into an adult and buildings turn into a forest of skyscrapers, and the "glitch effect," which appears with crackling sounds as if an error occurred, were also created using AI. Compared to advertisements made with 3D animation, costs and production time were reduced by 40% and 70%, respectively.
The advertisement was directed by Jeon Ian, who introduced the beauty of Korea and Seoul through the AI project "AI Point of View." Director Jeon said, "I focused on trying new techniques different from previously released AI-generated videos while producing a high-quality advertisement that sets a new standard. I did my best to capture stunning visuals within a limited timeframe."
LG Uplus plans to collaborate with Meta's "Creative Shop" to produce vertical short-form videos. The videos will be optimized and re-edited for vertical digital formats using the ixi technology. They will also be expanded to Instagram short-form videos called "Reels" in the future.
To celebrate the advertisement launch, an event will be held on the official YouTube channel until the 9th of next month, where participants can guess the meaning of the new slogan. Those who write the meaning contained in the new slogan revealed in the advertisement video will be entered into a draw to win prizes such as Ilkwang light bulb desk lamps, Immune Booster Shots, and coffee coupons.
