According to the county on the 23rd, this strategic business agreement is interpreted as the starting point for developing a cruise route with the Shandong Peninsula in China, Incheon, and Jeonbuk as major ports of call. Recently, Asian cruise tourism has been shifting towards short-term products lasting about 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days. In response to this change, Qingdao City is developing products focused mainly on the west coast of the Republic of Korea.

At the welcoming ceremony, Choi Young-du, Vice Governor of Buan County, explained the special provisions for the Jeonbuk Cruise Tourism Industry Promotion Zone. He added, "With Jeonbuk Province being elevated to Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, even greater opportunities have opened up for the cruise industry in Jeonbuk. I am confident that through this agreement ceremony, Buan County and Qingdao City’s Cruise Administration will engage in mutually beneficial cooperation, and the cruise industries of both countries will take a leap forward."

In response, Director Gao Bo stated, "A deep consensus has been reached between Qingdao City’s Cruise Administration and Chinese shipping companies regarding the cruise route between Qingdao City ~ Incheon ~ Buan. Since Chinese shipping companies and the China Northern Cruise Economic Research Institute accompanied this visit to Korea, we expect meaningful discussions to proceed on the cruise route connecting China and Jeonbuk."
