Korea-Africa Summit to be Held on July 4-5... Delegations from Over 45 Countries to Visit Korea Kim Tae-hyo, the First Deputy Director of the National Security Office, is briefing on the holding of the Korea-Japan-China Summit, Korea-UAE Summit, and Korea-Africa Summit at the Presidential Office building in Yongsan, Seoul on the 23rd.

The Presidential Office announced that more than 45 delegations from various countries are expected to visit Seoul for the Korea-Africa Summit to be held over two days on the 4th and 5th of next month. This summit is anticipated to be the largest multilateral summit since the inauguration of the Yoon Suk-yeol administration.


On the afternoon of the 23rd, Kim Tae-hyo, First Deputy Director of the National Security Office, held a briefing at the Yongsan Presidential Office and stated, "The Korea-Africa Summit is the first multilateral summit hosted by Korea targeting multiple African countries."


Deputy Director Kim said, "Since the early days of the Yoon administration, strategic cooperation with the Global South, including Africa, has been emphasized. Following last year's Korea Summit, by holding this year's Korea-Africa Summit, we will further expand cooperation with the Global South."


He added, "This summit is expected to serve as an opportunity to strengthen political and social solidarity with African countries and to establish mutually beneficial and practical cooperation in various economic security sectors such as critical minerals, infrastructure, renewable energy, digital technology, agriculture, and healthcare."


Deputy Director Kim emphasized, "Through this relay summit diplomacy, the government will strengthen the global economic security network and further enhance the playing field of opportunities so that our companies and citizens can fully demonstrate their capabilities."
