Baekseok University announced on the 23rd that it has signed academic exchange agreements with three institutions: Muhammadiyah University Jakarta, the University of Indonesia, and the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.
Attending the signing ceremony were Jang Taek-hyun, Chair of the University Innovation Committee at Baekseok University; Lee Kyung-jik, Vice President for Planning and Industry-Academia Cooperation; Lee Gye-young, Vice President for External Cooperation; Ayat Hendayana, Deputy Minister of the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology; Mamu Murod, President of Muhammadiyah University Jakarta; and Bondan Kanumoyoso, Dean of the University of Indonesia.
Through this agreement, the institutions and universities agreed to cooperate in areas including △ student exchanges and joint programs promoting the languages and cultures of both countries △ operation of joint industry-academia research projects △ exchange of human and material resources △ co-hosting academic seminars.
Ayat Hendayana, Deputy Minister of the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, stated, “We hope that through the agreement between Baekseok University and the two Indonesian universities, young students from both countries will engage in broader exchanges,” adding, “The government will also actively support this agreement to achieve tangible results.”
Jang Taek-hyun, Chair of the University Innovation Committee at Baekseok University, emphasized, “Now is a time when the relationship between Korea and Indonesia is stronger than ever, and both countries share the commonality that university education has played a significant role in their development,” and added, “We hope that cultural and exchange cooperation centered on the Korean language and K-Culture will expand.”
