Andong City signed a tourism cooperation MOU with the major Japanese travel agency HIS at the Andong City Hall Communication Room on the 23rd to develop and launch Andong tourism products.
This MOU was promoted to facilitate continuous tourism cooperation between Andong City and HIS, aiming to develop Andong tourism products, promote themed tours, four-season festivals, and various tourism information to the Japanese market.

After signing the MOU with Andong City, HIS visited UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Andong Hahoe Village and Bongjeongsa Temple, as well as experiencing local attractions and cuisine at the Andong Kimchi Factory, Andong Soju, and Hakkasan Hot Springs.
Fukushima Keisuke, Head of Overseas Business at HIS, stated, "The beautiful nature and traditional culture of Andong are already well known in Japan. I hope that introducing Andong's world heritage sites to the Japanese market will provide a great opportunity for many Japanese tourists to visit Korea."
Mayor Kwon Kichang said, "Cooperation with HIS is expected to be an important foundation for Andong City's tourism industry to take a leap forward," and added, "I look forward to receiving much advice on developing diverse tourism products and strategies to attract tourists in the future."
Japan's HIS, established in 1980, is one of the largest travel agencies in Japan, operating a wide range of travel and leisure products including domestic and international travel packages, airline tickets, hotels, accommodations, and tour packages.
