Professor Seo Chuyeon and Graduate Student Jeong Imju
Presentation at the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles Conference
Dong-A University (President Lee Haewoo) announced on the 23rd that Professor Seo Chuyeon from the Department of Fashion Design and doctoral candidate Jung Imju from the Graduate School of Clothing and Textile Science have each received the Best Reviewer Award and the Best Paper Presentation Award at the ‘2024 International Conference on Clothing and Textiles (ICCT)’.
The ‘2024 International Conference on Clothing and Textiles,’ hosted by the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles, the largest fashion-related academic organization in Korea, was held in Jeju over the past two days under the theme ‘Circular Economy: Fashion Forward to Resilient Future’.
A total of 12 countries participated in this event, and more than 220 research papers, which underwent a rigorous review process, were presented. The research papers were divided into the following sessions: ▲Joint symposium with the Japan Society of Textile Products Consumer Science ▲Three special topic oral presentation sessions ▲Two graduate student paper oral presentation competitions ▲Five academic division oral presentation sessions △Poster presentation sessions.
Professor Seo Chuyeon is actively conducting research in the fields of pattern development in clothing construction, human body three-dimensional shape studies, and 3D pattern modeling simulation analysis.
Professor Seo received the ‘Best Reviewer Award in JKSCT’ from the society in recognition of her contribution to enhancing the quality of academic journals.
Doctoral candidate Jung Imju presented a research paper titled ‘Physical Property of 3D Printed Structure Using Carbon Material/Thermoplastic Polyurethane Composite Filament with Various 3D Printing Processing Conditions’ at the ‘KSCT-JRATEU Joint Symposium’ held during the ICCT.
This research is a result of Dong-A University’s ‘4D Printing Metastructure-Based Healthcare Smart Clothing Soft Actuator Basic Research Laboratory’ and involves 3D printing of planar re-entrant structures, cubic structures, and shoe midsole structures using various carbon material/thermoplastic polyurethane composite filaments and processing conditions to determine the most suitable manufacturing conditions for each structure.
Jung Imju stated, “I was able to achieve this result thanks to the generous support and guidance of my advisor,” and added, “I will continue to focus on contributing to the development of the related field through persistent research.”
Professor Seo Chuyeon and graduate student Jung Imju from Dong-A University’s Department of Fashion Design are receiving the '2024 ICCT Excellent Sadok Award for Outstanding Paper Presentation'.
