Gwangju Songjeong Station Area Unveils the Real Joy of Living

Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, will hold the ‘Real Joy of Living Deuktem (Getting Good Items) & Nanjang Concert’ at 1913 Songjeong Station Market and other locations on the 25th.


Gwangju Songjeong Station Area Unveils the Real Joy of Living

This festival is part of the third year of the Gwangju Songjeong Station Area Commercial District Renaissance Project and is a festival planned and organized directly by merchants with themes suited to the characteristics of the commercial district.


On the day of the event, from 5 PM to 9 PM, the ‘Deuktem Concert’ will take place on Gwangsan-ro, starting with performances by singer Gil Eun-mi from Gwangsan-gu and the performance group ‘The Blue Ears,’ followed by a citizen singing contest.


Additionally, from 7:30 PM, Jin I-rang, the Jeonnam representative of the ‘KBS Trot National Competition,’ and the retro dance group Free Pass will present exciting performances. A flea market and night market featuring various contents such as craft experiences will also be operated.


During the performances, on-the-spot events will be held, including distributing coupons worth a total of 3 million won to participating citizens.


On the same day, from 5:30 PM, the ‘Nanjang Concert’ will be held for about three hours at the resting area of 1913 Songjeong Station Market. The concert will feature performances by saxophonist Lim Eun-gyu, trot singers Song Jun, Luana, and Han Cheong-a, followed by exciting stages by EDM (Electronic Dance Music) and dance groups DJ Janggun, Ilbro, and Clackson. Coupon distribution events for the audience will also be held during the Nanjang Concert.


As part of the ‘2024 Donghaeng Festival,’ a beer festival (from 4 PM to 9 PM) will also be held around 1913 Songjeong Station Market.


Kim In-gi, head of the Gwangju Songjeong Station Area Commercial District Renaissance Project Promotion Team, said, “We have prepared an event where everyone, regardless of age or gender, can fully enjoy the ‘real joy of living’ through various performances, flea markets, and night markets,” adding, “We hope many citizens will visit this festival that will breathe new life into the Gwangju Songjeong Station area.”
