Targeting Over 700 People Including Subcontractors and Public Officials
Ulsan City will conduct training on the proper execution of local subsidies.
Ulsan City announced that on the 23rd and 24th, at 2 p.m. each day, it will hold "Local Subsidy Audit Case Training" in the main building's second-floor auditorium for about 700 participants, including public institution and private organization subsidy recipients, as well as public officials from districts and counties.
This training is a new initiative to fulfill the current administration's national policy task of "monitoring and improving blind spots to ensure fiscal soundness." It aims to prevent the recurrence of similar or identical issues pointed out during audits.
The training will incorporate 34 frequently cited subsidy audit cases from the past three years to help participants understand the relevant laws and regulations regarding subsidy projects.
To enhance practical understanding, the budget and audit departments will conduct the training jointly, further increasing its effectiveness.
Kim Youngseong, Ulsan City Auditor, said, "We expect that subsidies will be executed as intended, enhancing procedural legitimacy, eliminating waste factors, and preventing financial leakage through fraudulent claims. We will actively promote measures to prevent and eradicate fraudulent subsidy claims to improve the transparency and accountability of local subsidy operations and continuously enhance the local subsidy management system."
Last year, Ulsan City recovered 55 million won in improperly executed subsidies through proactive audit activities in the areas of subsidies, consigned affairs, and welfare.
