Release of Two Wall Finishing Materials Including 'Bodak Stoneboard'
Renewal of Wall Finishing Materials for Both B2B and B2C Use
Hyundai L&C has launched a series of products that enhance functionality and design, including premium wall materials applying stone compression technology, targeting the wall material market.
Hyundai L&C, a comprehensive building materials company affiliated with Hyundai Department Store Group, announced on the 23rd that it will introduce two new products, including the premium wall material ‘Bodak Stoneboard’.
Bodak Stoneboard is a wall finishing material consisting of an 8mm thick board made from mineral raw materials such as granite, wrapped with the company’s interior film ‘Bodak Deco.’ It is a B2B (business-to-business) wall material that can be widely applied to residential facilities such as apartments as well as various commercial and public facilities.

The new product is a premium wall material applying stone compression technology, which is highly regarded in the Northern European building materials market. In addition to basic design patterns such as marble, stone, and wood, customized film designs tailored to each client can also be ordered as ‘customizing’ products.
A Hyundai L&C representative explained, “We established a design team dedicated to developing films for Bodak Stoneboard and built a made-to-order production process. Customers can even choose the film material such as PET, PVC, or PP, considering their usage and budget.”
Bodak Stoneboard has passed contamination resistance tests and tests for harmful substances including heavy metals, radon, and TVOC. The core material, a mineral board, has low moisture absorption and minimal deformation, making it suitable for use in moisture-exposed areas such as bathrooms and exterior applications. Additionally, for exterior-specialized products, a specialized deco film recognized for semi-noncombustible functionality by FITI Testing & Research Institute, an internationally accredited testing organization, has been developed and applied.
Another strength of Bodak Stoneboard is its lightweight and easy installation. Compared to 6mm tiles of the same area, it is about 40% lighter, allowing for quick transportation without special carrying tools during installation. It can also be installed using a dry method, significantly reducing construction time.
Hyundai L&C also unveiled ‘Bodak Sound Absorption Board,’ a specialized wall material for soundproofing facilities. Bodak Sound Absorption Board has been verified by the Korea Chemical Convergence Testing Institute to reduce noise by approximately 51% compared to general wall materials and has been recognized for flame retardant performance by the Korea Fire Industry Technology Institute, demonstrating competitiveness in the special-purpose wall material market. It features the trendy Tembaboard structure, allowing for stylish design effects, making it suitable not only for professional acoustic facilities but also for general home interior finishing materials.
Alongside this, the company will relaunch the B2B and B2C compatible wall material ‘Bodak Wall.’ Launched in 2020, Bodak Wall is a wall material consisting of a 6mm thick magnesium and calcium carbonate board wrapped with interior film.
Hyundai L&C has significantly expanded the design patterns from the original 30 to over 400, including marble and stone concepts, reflecting interior trends and customer preferences. This product has no minimum order quantity, making it accessible for individual customers, and its easy installation through cutting and adhesion has made it very popular among small to medium-sized interior companies and self-interior enthusiasts.
Starting with strengthening the wall material product lineup, Hyundai L&C plans to sequentially introduce various types of building materials that combine its expertise in flooring, films, windows, and other specialized building materials development and production technologies with the latest interior trends.
A Hyundai L&C representative stated, “Bodak Stoneboard is a new-concept wall material developed by applying advanced board production techniques to our country’s number one interior film technology. Based on our advanced technology, we will actively target the global market and establish ourselves as a leading building materials company recognized for technological excellence overseas.”
