Geumcheon-gu Middle School Students Receive Career Counseling from University Seniors and Experience 4th Industrial Revolution Jobs -
Held on the 24th Around the District Office for About 1,000 Local Middle School Students
Includes 29 Job Experiences and 1:1 Career Counseling with Career Experts and University Students
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that on the 24th, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, it will hold the "Geumcheon Career and Academic Fair" around the district office area, providing about 1,000 middle school students in the region with opportunities for career and academic consulting.
The event was organized to help students with career choices by arranging meetings with professionals and offering career and academic counseling from university students and experts.
The fair is themed "A Future Journey to Find Your Dream," designed as a journey for students to discover their aptitudes and explore new jobs that will emerge in the future.
The fair is divided into five zones: three career experience zones and two counseling zones.
The district operates zones where students can experience 29 different jobs, reflecting the results of a prior survey on job preferences conducted with 295 students from seven schools.
Students can experience 17 general occupations such as YouTuber, barista, baker, flight attendant, and beautician; 7 jobs related to the 4th industrial revolution like drone pilot and robotics engineer; and 5 unique occupations including professional gamer and balloon artist. Additionally, a separate booth is operated for specialized high school students to receive counseling and experience jobs in baking and railway fields.
In the counseling zones, students can receive one-on-one career counseling on major and job selection from experts and university students. Career counselors provide guidance based on career interest test results, and university students share their experiences regarding study methods and majors.
Moreover, an event zone offers activities such as robot soccer, laser shooting, and face painting to engage students and encourage active participation in the fair.
The district plans to open a Career and Academic Support Center in the Doksan-dong area this August, which will provide higher-level career counseling and admission consulting programs to assist students in their career choices.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "We prepared this fair to help our students reduce their worries about the future and make successful career choices, so we hope for active participation. We will continue to support the provision of customized academic and career information to strengthen educational competitiveness in the region."
