Youth Career and Culture Festival to be Held on the 24th at Suwon Youth Culture Center

Gyeonggi Province will hold the ‘Gyeonggi Youth Career and Culture Festival’ on the 24th around the Suwon Youth Culture Center.

In 2020, Gyeonggi Province became the first metropolitan local government to designate May 24th as ‘Gyeonggi Youth Day’ and has been hosting various events annually to commemorate this day.

This year’s event, under the theme ‘I am a Gyeonggi Youth,’ will be held on a large scale outdoors, unlike last year. Youths who wish to participate can visit the Suwon Youth Culture Center.

The main programs include ▲ Gyeonggi Youth Day ceremony ▲ career and culture experience booths ▲ youth club competition ▲ 3-on-3 youth basketball tournament ▲ youth comprehensive arts festival performances.

In particular, the career and culture experience booths are organized into four zones?Culture Zone, Career Zone, Happiness Zone, and Challenge Zone?with about 100 booths. Especially in the ‘Career Zone,’ in collaboration with specialized high schools and universities in the province, youth will have the opportunity to directly experience future technologies such as artificial intelligence, robots, and virtual reality (VR), and explore promising careers.

Additionally, the event venue is equipped with beneficial and fun booths including youth psychological counseling, environmental education and experiences, various craft experiences, traditional archery experience, and laser survival games.

In the youth club competition, 23 teams of youths with various talents such as dance and singing will compete to showcase their skills.

Park Geun-gyun, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Lifelong Education Bureau, said, "We hope that the 4th ‘Gyeonggi Youth Day’ this year will increase interest and understanding of youth," adding, "Gyeonggi Province will continue to make efforts so that youths can grow up safely and healthily."
