Busan Port Festival to Be Held in Celebration of Ocean Day

June 1-2 at International Passenger Terminal and Chinsu Park
Various Events Including Fireworks Show, Drone Art Show, and Boat Tour

The 17th Busan Port Festival, where visitors can fully enjoy "Busan Port," will be held for two days starting June 1.


Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Junseok) announced on the 23rd that, in celebration of Maritime Day on May 31, it will co-host the 17th Busan Port Festival?Korea's representative port festival?together with Busan Metropolitan City, Busan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries, and others. The event will take place at the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal, Bukhang Waterside Park, and the area around the Yeongdo Coast Guard Pier.


On the opening day, June 1, the festival will kick off with a celebratory performance by emotional vocalist Kim Bumsoo and the spectacular "Busan Port Fireworks Show & Dong-gu Drone Art Show," featuring 1,200 drones and fireworks.


During the festival, various programs will be held, including the "Global Port-Park," where visitors can experience diverse content from different countries in spaces created from containers?symbols of Busan Port logistics. There will also be "Boat Tours and Model Boat Making," where visitors can try out various types of boats in the waterways of Bukhang Waterside Park.


At the "Global Port-Park," visitors can experience a variety of cultures, such as traditional crafts from T?rkiye, music ranging from Japanese folk songs to J-pop, and the healing culture of Thailand's resort destinations.


The main exhibition hall, "Busan Hall," is designed as an educational program where participants navigate a maze made from large containers, solving quizzes and missions related to Busan Port along the way.


Additionally, at Bukhang Waterside Park, there will be a "Love for the Sea" children's writing and drawing contest, as well as hands-on activities such as making model ships like Geobukseon and Panokseon.


At the Yeongdo Coast Guard Pier, programs will include "Large Patrol Ship Open House," "Busan Port Tour" aboard the port guide ship Saenur-iho and the Jagalchi Cruise, and the "Mission Stamp Tour," where participants visit the Yeongdo Marine Cluster to complete missions.

BPA President Kang Junseok said, "The Bukhang redevelopment area, which serves as the stage for the Busan Port Festival, has been transformed into a space for relaxation and leisure after 15 years of construction. In line with our goal of returning this area to the citizens, we have prepared a variety of fun and exciting attractions, so I hope many people will visit and enjoy the festival."
