As the mid-level prosecutor personnel reshuffle approaches, deputy and chief prosecutors are consecutively tendering their resignations.


Prosecutor Mid-Level Executive Personnel Changes Imminent... Deputy and Chief Prosecutors Successively Submit Resignations Supreme Prosecutors' Office, Seocho-gu, Seoul.

According to the legal community on the 22nd, five individuals have expressed their intention to resign by this day: Kim Hyung-su, Chief of the Busan District Prosecutors' Office East Branch (Judicial Research and Training Institute class 30); Park Sang-jin, First Deputy Chief Prosecutor of Busan District Prosecutors' Office (class 31); Park Seung-hwan, Head of the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office Major Economic Crimes Investigation Unit (class 27); Choi Jae-min, Head of the Inspection Department at the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office (class 30); and Jang Il-hee, Head of the Women and Children Crime Investigation Department at the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office (class 35).


Chief Kim posted on the internal prosecution network E-Pros on the same day, stating, "I am well aware that each member is carrying out their duties with a sense of mission and sincerity in their respective positions, so I believe that public trust in the prosecution will continue even in difficult circumstances."


Deputy Chief Prosecutor Park also posted on E-Pros on the 20th, saying, "I am proud to have been a member of the prosecution, and I sincerely support the prosecution, my true hometown, wherever I may be."


The Ministry of Justice will hold a Prosecutor Personnel Committee meeting on the afternoon of the 24th to discuss promotion and transfer proposals for high prosecutors at the level of deputy and chief prosecutors.


Due to the recent personnel reshuffle of senior prosecutors at the level of chief prosecutors and above, positions such as the first to fourth deputy chief prosecutors at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office remain vacant.
