Canceled after the broadcast on June 2
Original satirical current affairs radio program
Followed by a trot music program
The 'Singgeulbeonggeul Show,' which has been MBC Radio's (Standard FM) flagship program for 51 years, is being discontinued. On the 20th, MBC Radio announced, "After much deliberation, we have decided to close the door on the 'Singgeulbeonggeul Show,' which has shared joys and sorrows with listeners for a long time. The final broadcast will be on June 2." The 'Singgeulbeonggeul Show,' which first aired on October 8, 1973, is considered the pioneer of satirical current affairs radio programs.

After hosts such as Heo Cham, Song Hae, Park Il, and Song Do-sun, comedian Kang Seok hosted the show for 36 years (1985?2020), and comedienne Kim Hye-young for 33 years (1987?2020), making it an iconic program of MBC Radio. Subsequently, singer Bae Gi-sung, announcer Heo Il-hoo, and comedian Jung Joon-ha took over, and currently, singer Shin Ji and comedian Lee Yoon-seok are the DJs of the 'Singgeulbeonggeul Show.' It is known that a trot-specialized program is scheduled to succeed the 'Singgeulbeonggeul Show.' The host is yet to be decided.
Long-running Programs and DJs Step Down
Prior to the news of the 'Singgeulbeonggeul Show' cancellation, the departure of long-time DJs from SBS Power FM has also been reported, delivering an even greater shock to loyal listeners who have followed these programs for many years. In March, DJ Kim Chang-wan, who hosted SBS Radio's 'Beautiful This Morning Kim Chang-wan (Achimchang)' for 23 years, bid farewell to listeners. During the final live broadcast of 'Achimchang,' he performed a live stage and shed tears.
Kim Chang-wan's successor is actor Bong Tae-gyu. Although he is leaving 'Achimchang,' Kim Chang-wan plans to meet listeners again in the second half of this year through a new program on Love FM after taking some time to reorganize.
Not only Kim Chang-wan but also Choi Hwa-jung, who led 'Choi Hwajung's Power Time (Choipata)' for 27 years, announced her departure on the 17th. She said, "I have decided to continue only until the end of this month," and tearfully expressed, "I cannot list all the love you have given me, but I will finish well." The last broadcast of 'Choipata' will be on the 2nd of next month, and the successor DJ has not been decided. Starting June 3, musical actor Kim Ho-young is scheduled to appear as a special DJ for one month.
