Jeongeup City in Jeollabuk-do has urged farmers to apply within the deadline as the application period for the ‘2024 Agricultural and Rural Public Value Support Project (Farmer Public Interest Allowance)’ is approaching.
According to the city on the 22nd, the Farmer Public Interest Allowance is a project implemented to create a sustainable agricultural and rural environment by preserving and enhancing the public functions of agriculture and rural areas.

The total project cost is 7.2 billion KRW, with 60% funded by the city and 40% by the province, providing 600,000 KRW once a year per farm household.
If farmers do not apply within the period, they will not be able to receive the allowance, so those who have not yet applied must visit their local eup, myeon, or dong office and apply by the 31st without delay.
Eligible recipients of the Farmer Public Interest Allowance must be registered agricultural management entities with a continuously maintained address for over two years, have their resident registration address in Jeongeup City (actual residence), and cultivate farmland of at least 1,000㎡.
Last year, the city individually notified farmers who were eligible but did not apply, and with the cooperation of village leaders and community heads, is making every effort to promote the final call through village broadcasts and other means.
Additionally, the city plans to finalize the list of recipients in August after verifying eligibility and conducting compliance inspections for the applicants, and to provide the allowance in Jeongeup Love Gift Certificates before Chuseok in September.
