By June, 70 Locations; All Public Parking Lots by Year-End
Nation's First Enhanced Pre-Discount Convenience via Mobile Phones
Ulsan City is expanding its "wallet-free parking lots." Even without cash or a card, drivers can use parking facilities, saving time when entering and exiting.
On the 22nd, Ulsan City announced that it will expand the "wallet-free parking lot" system, currently operating at 25 public parking lots, to 70 locations by June. Furthermore, by December this year, the system will be implemented at all public paid parking lots in the city.
The "wallet-free parking lot" service allows users to register pre-payment, vehicle, and discount information, enabling automatic payment and fee discounts. This lets drivers exit public parking lots quickly, similar to the Hi-Pass system.
Through service upgrades, Ulsan City will improve errors such as double payments by June and, for the first time in the country, provide a mobile pre-discount feature. This will allow parking tickets, discount coupons, and electric vehicle charging receipts to be instantly recognized and applied via a phone camera before exiting.
A web payment function for stores will also be provided. Instead of manually issued discount and parking tickets, users can simply enter the last four digits of their license plate number to automatically receive benefits.
In particular, discounts for electric vehicle charging will be automatically applied by recognizing the date and charging time on receipts, making the process more convenient.
Additionally, if a user takes a photo of a disability ID card with their phone camera, they can register for discounts on the spot. This allows immediate application of disability discounts even if the vehicle is not previously registered as a disability vehicle, enhancing user convenience.
The "wallet-free parking lot" service can be used after registering as a member on the website, registering a vehicle, and registering a payment card. Existing members can continue to use the service as before.
Not only Ulsan citizens but also visitors from other regions can receive a 10% parking fee discount after signing up and registering their vehicle and credit card.
An Ulsan City official stated, "By signing up for the wallet-free parking lot, users can exit as quickly as on a highway Hi-Pass, greatly improving the convenience of public parking lots. We will expand this to all paid public parking lots by the end of the year, making public parking throughout Ulsan much more convenient."
