Gangbuk-gu 'Gangbuk Comprehensive Sports Center' Opens... Full Operation from June 3

Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) announced on the 21st that the opening ceremony of the Gangbuk Comprehensive Sports Center, located in Mia-dong (14, Solsaem-ro 48-gil), was held.

The opening ceremony was attended by about 100 people, including Mayor Lee Soon-hee of Gangbuk-gu, city and district council members, and local residents. The event proceeded with a project progress report, congratulatory performances, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and a tour of the center.

The Gangbuk Comprehensive Sports Center, built on a site of 1,704㎡ with a total floor area of 2,645㎡ (2 basement floors to 2 above-ground floors), began construction in September 2019 and was completed earlier this year. It features a swimming pool on the second basement floor (6 lanes, 25m), offices, lobby, and caf? on the first basement floor, a gym, equipment Pilates, and program operation rooms on the first floor, and locker rooms and a rooftop garden on the second floor.

The main programs offered include swimming, GX (Zumba, yoga, aerobics, etc.), gym workouts, circuit training, and equipment Pilates. Some programs have been operating since March, and from May 25, applications and registrations for all programs including swimming will be accepted, with full operations starting on June 3.

Residents wishing to use the facilities can register through the Gangbuk Comprehensive Sports Center website. For further inquiries, questions can be directed to the center’s website or by phone for assistance.

Mayor Lee Soon-hee of Gangbuk-gu stated, “The opening of the Gangbuk Comprehensive Sports Center will contribute to expanding the base of community sports among residents,” and added, “We will continue to expand sports facilities to promote the health of Gangbuk residents.”
