The beauty-related departments of Yeungjin College (President Choi Jaeyoung) demonstrated their overwhelming skills by sweeping the top Gold Awards in eight categories at the Daegu Mayor's Cup Beauty Competition, held during the 2024 Daegu International Beauty Expo.
According to Yeungjin College on the 21st, students from the Department of Beauty Convergence, Department of Medical K-Beauty, and Department of Beauty Convergence (Bachelor’s Degree Advanced Program) won first place Gold Awards in eight categories at the beauty competition held over the past weekend and holiday, with a total of nine students taking home the top prize.

On the 18th, at the 2nd Daegu Mayor's Cup K-Nail Beauty Skills Competition, Hwang Hyuna (1st year) and Park Sua (1st year) from the Department of Beauty Convergence each won Gold Awards (1st place) in the Mani Art and Pedi Art categories, respectively. Kim Mijeong (Department of Beauty Convergence, 4th year, Bachelor’s Degree Advanced Program) took the Gold Award (1st place) in the Mix Media category.
On the 19th, at the 14th Daegu Mayor's Cup International Skin Beauty Competition, Park Soyeon (2nd year) and Kim Hajung (2nd year) from the Department of Beauty Convergence each won Gold Awards (1st place) in the University Division Special Facial Care and Facial Swedish categories, respectively. Chae Jaemin (3rd year, Bachelor’s Degree Advanced Program, Department of Beauty Convergence) won the Gold Award (1st place) in the General Division Waxing Sugaring category. Lee Jihyun (1st year) and Kim Hayoung (1st year) from the Department of Medical K-Beauty won Gold Awards (1st place) in the General Division Waxing Soft category, and Choi Jingyeong (1st year) won the Gold Award (1st place) in the Body Swedish category, further proving their skills.
During the 11th Daegu International Beauty Expo, held for three days starting from the 17th, the Department of Beauty Convergence operated a beauty experience booth at EXCO, offering hair color braiding and salon gel nail art experiences for visitors, which received an enthusiastic response.
Chae Jaemin (3rd year), who won the Gold Award in the General Division Waxing Sugaring category, said, "I am currently a practicing skin care specialist and also run a shop. With the goal of growing further as a male skin care professional, I entered the Department of Beauty Convergence in the bachelor's degree program. Thanks to the guidance of my major professor, I participated in the competition for the first time and was delighted to win the top award," adding, "I will continue to provide the best service to my clients and strive to grow as a beauty professional with even greater humility."

Yeungjin College established the Department of Beauty Convergence in 2022 with the goal of cultivating talent to lead the K-Beauty industry, nurturing convergence-type professionals in total beauty and beauty marketing. In addition, after receiving approval for the advanced bachelor's degree program in beauty, the Department of Beauty Convergence was established in the 2023 academic year, further advancing the education of beauty majors in job skills and knowledge.
For the 2024 academic year, the Department of Medical K-Beauty was newly established with the goal of nurturing the emerging "medical beauty professionals." With these three beauty-related departments, the college is accelerating efforts to train talent in line with the growth and globalization of the beauty industry.
