100 Outstanding Mid-sized Companies in Semiconductors, Displays, and Future Cars Participate On-site
The Korea Federation of Medium-Sized Enterprises, in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Student Aid Foundation, announced that it held the 'Medium-Sized Enterprise Job Fair' at COEX on the 21st. With over 5,000 job seekers attending, this fair was the largest ever, featuring 100 outstanding medium-sized enterprises in advanced industries such as Nepes, Samick THK, and Hana Materials.
Choi Jin-sik, Chairman of the Korea Federation of Medium-sized Enterprises, is delivering the opening address.
Now in its 8th year, the fair began in 2017 to resolve job mismatches in medium-sized enterprises and provide quality job information to young people. As of last year, a total of 533 companies and 33,999 job seekers have participated. This year's fair operated well-received programs such as motivational lectures by employment-specialized YouTubers, HR manager talk shows, and recruitment briefings, and actively reflected feedback from last year's participants to expand the number of recruitment booths to a total of 120.
The Federation plans to hold its second fair of the year in October in Daejeon to alleviate manpower shortages in regional medium-sized enterprises and expand employment opportunities for job seekers. Choi Jin-sik, chairman of the Federation, stated, "As the saying goes, 'A job is the best welfare,' a good job is the starting point of hope for tomorrow and an investment in the future, serving as the most effective means to support young people." He added, "The Federation will take the lead to ensure that the fresh individuality and brilliant capabilities of all young people can be transformed into the driving force for another leap forward of medium-sized enterprises."
