Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is implementing a project to provide free cleaning services for kitchens and refrigerators as part of improving the environment of delivery-only restaurants.
On the 21st, Nam-gu announced, "To enhance the hygiene standards of food service establishments and alleviate concerns about food safety, we are promoting the 'Visible Safe Kitchen' support project targeting delivery-only restaurants," adding, "We are recruiting establishments wishing to participate in this project until June 7."
The Visible Safe Kitchen support project involves cleaning the kitchens and refrigerators of participating delivery-only restaurants, then publishing photos of the kitchens on the district office website. Additionally, promotional materials for the establishments will be produced and distributed using QR codes linked to the website.
The recruitment target includes delivery-only restaurants within the district that can allow their improved kitchen photos, after hygiene management, to be published on the district office website.
However, establishments that have received administrative sanctions for violating the Food Sanitation Act within the past two years are excluded from the recruitment.
Applications can be submitted by downloading the relevant forms from the Nam-gu Office website's public notices section and sending them via mail, fax, or to the responsible person's email.
Nam-gu plans to select about 20 establishments after on-site inspections of applicants and will provide support funds up to 1 million KRW per establishment to assist with cleaning aging kitchen facilities and refrigerators.
