Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Promotes Copyright Importance to Youth Through Essay Writing

The 20th National Youth Copyright Writing Contest Held
Youth Aged 6 to Under 19 Can Participate Until July 8

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 21st that it will hold the "20th National Youth Copyright Writing Contest" in collaboration with the Korea Copyright Commission until July 8. This contest will also include a video category competition.

The contest is open to youth aged 6 to under 19. Participants can submit a written piece between 1,000 and 3,600 characters on the theme of copyright or a video between 20 seconds and 3 minutes in length.


The winning entries will be selected through expert review, plagiarism checks, and public preliminary verification, with a total of 46 works to be awarded in November.


One grand prize winner in the writing category will receive the Prime Minister's Award and a scholarship of 1,000,000 KRW; three writing category excellence award winners and one video category excellence award winner (team) will receive the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award and a scholarship of 500,000 KRW; and three writing category merit award winners and one video category merit award winner (team) will receive the Korea Copyright Commission Chairman's Award and a scholarship of 200,000 KRW.

The Korea Copyright Commission will support copyright registration for the nine winning works that received the grand prize, excellence awards, and merit awards. A collection of the 46 winning works will also be published and distributed to schools or made available for download on the Korea Copyright Commission website.
