An accident occurred at the Army 32nd Division in Sejong City during training when a grenade exploded, injuring two people, one of whom was a trainee who died.
According to the Army, at around 9:50 a.m. on the 21st, a grenade exploded during grenade throwing training at the Army 32nd Division.
As a result of the explosion, two soldiers, including one officer and one soldier, were injured and urgently transported to the Armed Forces Daejeon Hospital, but the soldier who was in cardiac arrest died. The officer is receiving emergency treatment and is currently conscious.
The Army stated, "We sincerely extend our deepest condolences to the deceased soldier and their family, and we plan to investigate the exact cause of the accident together with the police."
