Multiple Award Winners Including One Triple Crown and Four Double Crown Recipients
Disabled students in the Cheonan area won 47 medals at the 18th National Disabled Students Sports Competition.
Students with disabilities in the Cheonan area of Chungnam won 47 medals at the 18th National Sports Festival for Students with Disabilities.
Cheonan sent 47 athletes to compete in 12 events at this competition held from the 14th to the 17th across Mokpo and other parts of Jeollanam-do.
The results included 17 gold medals, 16 silver medals, and 14 bronze medals, totaling 47 medals. This is 10 more medals than the previous competition.
Five multi-medalists emerged, including one triple gold medalist and four double gold medalists.
Yoo Seongjae from Cheonan Technical High School swept gold medals in the men's -80kg category in bench press overall, powerlifting, and weightlifting. Kim Doyeon, Lee Seonho, and Choi Minhyeok from Cheonan Technical High School also won gold medals in the disc golf event.
Additionally, Han Jaemin from Cheonan Seongjeong Middle School won first place in both the 100m and 200m in the boys' middle school DB division track events.
By event, the medals were as follows: △ eSports - 2 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze △ Basketball overall championship (1 gold) △ Disc golf - 3 gold △ Badminton - 1 gold △ Boccia - 3 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze △ Weightlifting - 4 gold, 5 silver △ Athletics (track) - 2 gold △ Athletics (field) - 1 gold, 6 silver, 5 bronze △ Rowing - 2 bronze △ Table tennis - 2 silver, 2 bronze.
An official from the Cheonan Office of Education said, “It was a valuable time to see the athletes endure and train diligently while preparing for the competition and grow through adversity.”
