Sellers' Return Issues Resolved... Demand Forecasting Also Provided
CJ Logistics' integrated logistics service sales in the fashion and beauty sectors have doubled in one year.
On the 21st, CJ Logistics announced that the volume in the fashion and beauty sectors within its fulfillment business in the first quarter of this year increased by 98.4% compared to the same period last year. Fulfillment is an integrated logistics service that provides the entire process at once, from product receipt, storage, inventory management, shipping, to delivery. Since the early stages of the fulfillment business in 2022, the compound quarterly growth rate (CQGR) in the fashion and beauty sectors has reached 23.7%. Thanks to this, CJ Logistics' e-commerce business sales recorded 68.2 billion KRW, a 13% increase compared to the same period last year.
CJ Logistics' unique logistics infrastructure and technology played a key role. CJ Logistics owns 16 hub terminals, including Asia's largest Gonjiam hub and the small-item specialized Anseong MP, as well as 276 sub-terminals. Through this, they provide not only stable nationwide delivery services but also a 'return-specialized service' that addresses sellers' concerns about returns in the fashion and beauty sectors by enabling fast collection, inspection, quality assurance, and shipping.
The demand forecasting technology developed by TES Logistics Technology Research Institute also contributed. It helps predict and respond to volume increases due to promotional events in advance. Recently, they plan to apply the clothing-specialized polybag packaging equipment, the 'Apps Apparel Automatic Packaging System,' to client companies.
CJ Logistics plans to maintain high growth in the fulfillment sector centered on fashion and beauty. The recent launch of three new fulfillment centers in places such as Icheon, Gyeonggi Province last year is in line with this strategy. An Jae-ho, Head of Sales at CJ Logistics, said, "By fully launching premium services such as delivery guarantee, we will promote the influx of e-commerce platforms and sellers, while expanding fulfillment services to various platforms including social and live commerce."
