JTBC 'Sageon Banjang' Interviews All Staff
Kang Hyeong-wook's Side Does Not Issue Any Official Statement
Dog trainer Kang Hyung-wook, founder of 'Bodeum Company,' is facing ongoing allegations from former employees. They claim that Kang frequently verbally abused staff during their employment.
On the 20th, JTBC's 'Sageon Banjang' aired an interview with former Bodeum Company employee A. A stated on the program, "The most memorable things I heard were 'Don't even breathe,' 'It's a waste for you to breathe,' 'You're worse than a bug,' and 'Just crawl away.' I heard these kinds of things every day."
He also added that Kang often verbally abused other employees as well. A explained the situation at the time, saying, "Throwing leashes was a common occurrence, and I was always called out and scolded. Other employees witnessed the verbal abuse."
Another whistleblower, B, said, "When I was leaving, I received a KakaoTalk message from Kang. He said he wanted to talk on the phone about my salary, so I asked for a KakaoTalk message to keep evidence, but he didn’t reply." B continued, "Then, on payday, I received 9,670 won. It was the first time in my life I saw something like that. I couldn’t endure it and reported it to the Employment and Labor Office."
Regarding the reason for the 9,670 won payment, Kang’s side reportedly stated, "We had to deduct salary because B did not properly manage the clients he was responsible for until the end."
Later, when the Seoul Employment and Labor Office scheduled a three-party meeting with B and the company, Kang’s wife contacted B, saying, "There was no intention to hurt your pride." After B requested the remaining salary, it is known that he received the base pay and annual leave allowance.
JTBC also contacted Bodeum Company to hear Kang’s side but received no response. The host of Sageon Banjang explained, "We tried to reach out via text, phone, mobile, and company email, but there was no feedback. Other media outlets also contacted Kang’s side but received no response."
Meanwhile, this controversy began after Bodeum Company’s average rating on the job review site 'Job Planet' was very low at 1.7 points. Most reviews in the company evaluation section expressed dissatisfaction with the management, and some employees claimed they experienced workplace harassment from the company.
Netizens are demanding explanations on Kang’s YouTube channel, 'Kang Hyung-wook’s Bodeum TV.' However, as of the morning of the 21st, there has been no significant response from Kang’s side.
