On the 21st, Yonhap News quoted Munich local media Tageszeitung (TZ), reporting that the famous Munich beer hall Hofbr?uhaus recently received a letter from an American who identified himself as Gregory K (74). He confessed that in January 1972, when he was a college student traveling around Europe with friends, he sneakily took a beer mug from Hofbr?uhaus and still keeps it. He asked for forgiveness for his "foolish behavior" and enclosed a $50 bill in the envelope. At the end of the letter, he wrote, "A foolish college student."

The beer mug he stole is a stoneware mug engraved with 'HB,' representing Hofbr?uhaus. Since the mug made it difficult to see how much beer was poured, Hofbr?uhaus stopped using it a few months after Gregory K's visit. Now, it is sold as a souvenir for around 40 euros (about 59,000 won).

Hofbr?uhaus stated, "We are happy to accept the apology" and added, "We hope you continue to enjoy it along with the beer mug." Additionally, the $50 bill that came with the letter will be donated to a charity.
