Baesangmun will participate in the Korea Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA) Championship after a long time.

Baesangmun 'Competing in KPGA Championship After 14 Years' Bae Sang-moon will participate in the KPGA Championship for the first time in 14 years.

The KPGA Tour announced, "Baesangmun will appear for the first time in 14 years since 2010 at the 67th edition of this tournament." This year's event will be held over four days from June 6 to 9 at A-One Country Club (Par 71) in Yangsan, Gyeongnam. In addition to Baesangmun, Matthew Griffin (Australia), the 2014 champion, will also compete for the first time in nine years since 2015. The defending champion is Choi Seung-bin.

Baesangmun is a veteran with a total of 9 wins on the KPGA Tour. He has 3 wins on the Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO) and 2 wins on the PGA Tour, totaling 14 professional wins. He was the money leader on the KPGA Tour in 2008 and 2009, and on the JGTO in 2011. In 2012, he advanced to the "dream stage," the PGA Tour, and won twice within three seasons. Since his military service in 2017, he has not achieved notable results. Having lost his PGA Tour card, he is aiming for a comeback on the Korn Ferry Tour (second-tier) and the Asian Tour.

This year's KPGA Championship has grown in scale. The total prize money has increased by 100 million KRW to 1.6 billion KRW. The winner's prize has also risen by 20 million KRW to 320 million KRW. It is the KPGA Tour's sole sanctioned event with the highest total and winner's prize money. The KPGA Championship, which began in 1958, is the longest-running professional golf tournament in Korea, held without interruption. This year, 156 top KPGA Tour players including Park Sang-hyun, Ko Gun-taek, Seo Yo-seop, Moon Do-yeop, and Hwang Jung-gon will compete in a 72-hole stroke play format to determine the champion.
