On the 20th, the Seocho Police Station in Seoul announced that the results of Choi's psychopathy diagnosis test confirmed that he is not a psychopath.
Choi is accused of wielding a weapon against his girlfriend of the same age on the rooftop of a building near Gangnam Station in Seocho-gu around 5 p.m. on the 6th, causing her death. The police responded to a report that "a man was attempting to jump from the rooftop," and after pulling him back, they found that he had left a bag containing drugs behind. During a re-examination of the scene, they discovered the deceased victim and urgently arrested Choi. An autopsy of the victim's body revealed that the cause of death was bleeding from stab wounds (exsanguination due to self-inflicted wounds).
During police questioning, Choi stated that he committed the crime after his girlfriend said she wanted to break up. Evidence also showed that he had prepared for the crime in advance, including purchasing the weapon at a large supermarket in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, two hours before the incident and calling the victim out.
