Over 300 Participants from 45 Teams Compete in 4 Categories
Congratulatory Remarks by National Assembly Member Kim Mi-ae and District Mayor Kim Sung-su at the Opening
The Haeundae-gu Jokgu Association in Busan (President: Park Junghoon) held the 6th Haeundae-gu Association President’s Cup Jokgu Tournament on the 19th, where winners were determined in four categories.
On this day, a total of 45 teams and more than 300 players competed for the championship in four categories at the dedicated jokgu field in Wondong, Haeundae-gu.
The Busan Jokgu Association announced on the 20th that in the J5 division of this tournament, the “Jaemisama B” team took first place, with “Jaemisama A” as the runner-up. The joint third place in this division went to “Jeungsan” and “Baekyang.”
On the 19th, Park Junghoon, the president who hosted the 6th Haeundaegu Jokgu Association President's Jokgu Tournament held at the Jokgu-exclusive court by the riverside in Wondong, Haeundaegu, Busan, declared the opening (front in the photo). On this day, attendees including National Assembly member Mi Ae Kim (third from the left in the back row), Haeundaegu District Mayor Seongsu Kim (fourth from the left), and Busan Jokgu Association President Samcheol Park (fifth from the right) encouraged the event.
In the J6 division, “Jaemisama B” also won the championship, with “JK” as the runner-up, and “Anrak A” and “Anrak B” sharing third place. In the 60s division, “Baekyang” took first place, “BK” was the runner-up, and “Jeungsan” and “Anrak” finished in joint third. In the Silver division (65 and older), “Hansaee” won the championship, “Jaemisama B” was the runner-up, and “Ilgongo” and “Sangsin” shared third place.
This tournament was hosted by the Haeundae-gu Jokgu Association and sponsored by Haeundae-gu, the Haeundae-gu Sports Council, and the Busan Jokgu Association (President: Park Samcheol). To celebrate the event, National Assembly member Kim Mi-ae (People Power Party, Haeundae-gu), Haeundae-gu Mayor Kim Seongsu, and Busan Jokgu Association President Park Samcheol attended and offered their congratulations.
Park Junghoon, President of the Haeundae-gu Jokgu Association, who organized the event, said, “I hope this tournament, held to further popularize the sport, will contribute to the development of community sports and serve as an opportunity to strengthen friendship and solidarity among jokgu enthusiasts in Busan.”
Park Samcheol, President of the Busan Jokgu Association, said, “This was a venue for jokgu players to share friendship, health, and various information about community sports,” adding, “I hope that jokgu, our unique traditional sport known as its origin, provided all participants with sweat, health, and laughter.”
