Overall 6th Place, Total of 74 Medals Including 16 Gold
The Jeonnam team won a total of 74 medals at the 18th National Disabled Students Sports Competition, including 16 gold, 35 silver, and 23 bronze medals, achieving their best-ever overall 6th place.
According to the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education on the 20th, the 154-member Jeonnam team participated in 11 events at the 18th National Disabled Students Sports Competition held in Mokpo City and other areas of Jeonnam, demonstrating outstanding skills in athletics, e-sports, and boccia.

Guk Sarang from Sorim School participated in the athletics 800m, 1,500m, and 400m relay T20 (demonstration event), winning three gold medals at the competition.
Jo Kyung-in from Mokpo Inseong School won two gold medals and achieved a four-time consecutive victory, being selected as a scholarship athlete by the Korea Disabled Sports Association. Among the three siblings who competed as indoor rowing athletes, siblings Kim Sang-hoon and Kim Sang-hee participated in the mixed 500m time race team event, jointly winning a silver medal with a time of 1 minute 58 seconds.
Also, Kim Jun from Hanjae Elementary School in Damyang won a silver medal in the mixed Shulrun SL-6 event, sharing the joy with classmates who enthusiastically cheered.
Park Jae-hyun, Director of the Physical Education and Health Department, said, “I am very proud and impressed by the Jeonnam disabled students who participated in the competition,” and added, “We will focus on placing experts and providing support to solve systemic issues related to disabled sports, using this competition as an opportunity.”
