As of the afternoon of the 20th, when typing 'Lai Ching-te' into Weibo's search menu, a notification appears at the top stating, "According to relevant laws, regulations, and policies, content on this topic is not displayed."

Some search results do appear, but they are presumed to be censored content.

According to AFP, hashtags such as 'Taiwan 520 New Government Inauguration' and 'Lai Ching-te Inauguration' have also been deleted.

AFP reported that this measure aims to prevent content related to Lai Ching-te's inauguration from trending in real time.

Weibo has also blocked the hashtag 'Tsai Ing-wen,' related to the outgoing Taiwan president Tsai Ing-wen.

Instead, Weibo featured many posts aligning with the Chinese government's stance that 'Taiwan will soon be returned,' viewing Taiwan as part of its territory.
