Dongui University Professor Kim Chiyong Receives Academic Award from Korea Multimedia Society

Awarded Best Paper for "Research on Automatic Generation of Video Storyboards Based on Generative AI"

Kim Chiyong, a professor in the Department of Game Engineering at Dong-Eui University and Director of External Cooperation, was awarded the Academic Award for his contributions to academic development, recognized for his numerous research paper publications at the "2024 Spring Academic Conference of the Korean Society of Multimedia," held at Sookmyung Women's University from May 16 to 18.


Additionally, Choi Junwan, a doctoral student in the Department of Storytelling at Dong-Eui University Graduate School, and Professor Kim Chiyong received the Excellent Paper Award for their research titled "A Study on Automatic Generation of Video Storyboards Based on Generative AI."

Professor Kim stated, "This academic conference was a valuable opportunity to hear firsthand about the latest technology trends in the field from top experts, featuring a keynote speech by Lee Jooseok, Vice President of Intel Korea, under the theme 'A New World Opened by Multimodality,' as well as special sessions, workshops for young researchers, tutorials, oral presentations, and poster presentations."


He added, "Many undergraduate and graduate students from Dong-Eui University participated, and I am very proud to have received the highest award at the conference, the Academic Award, along with my student's Excellent Paper Award."


At this event, hosted by the Korean Society of Multimedia (President Kim Hyeongi, professor at National Andong University) under the theme "The Present and Future of Multimodal Generative AI," more than 200 papers were presented. Numerous experts from industry, academia, research institutes, and government participated to exchange opinions on various convergence technologies utilizing generative artificial intelligence.
