Naju-si Geumcheon-myeon, Environmental Cleanup Conducted Around Godong Intersection Promotion Bulletin Board

Geumcheon-myeon, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Choi Yonom) recently announced on the 20th that it conducted an environmental cleanup around the promotional bulletin board at Godong Intersection together with the Geumcheon-myeon Residents' Autonomy Committee (Chairman Ban Jaegon).

Godong Intersection in Geumcheon-myeon is a major road passing through Bitgaram Innovation City, Naju City Hall, and Yeongsanpo, but until now, it had been neglected with trash and weeds making the area unsightly.

Accordingly, the Residents' Autonomy Committee agreed at their April monthly meeting to plant flowers and trees around the intersection to create a flower garden, and established the "Geumbit Garden."

Ban Jaegon, Chairman of the Residents' Autonomy Committee, said, "I thank the committee members who actively participated in the community beautification project despite the busy farming season," and added, "I hope all residents will continue to take the lead in environmental maintenance so that Geumbit Garden remains beautiful."

Choi Yonom, Mayor of Geumcheon-myeon, said, "I am grateful to the Residents' Autonomy Committee for transforming the weed-covered Godong Intersection into a beautiful flower garden," and added, "We will continue to make Geumcheon-myeon more beautiful on a sustainable basis, not just a one-time effort."
