Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) is recruiting applicants for the '2024 Hope Double Youth Account' to support the economic independence of working youth in the area from June 10 to 21 for two weeks.
The Hope Double Youth Account is a program that matches the amount saved by the participant by saving 150,000 KRW monthly for 2 or 3 years. It supports working youth to achieve economic independence by accumulating a lump sum and helps them establish concrete future plans to open a hopeful future.
The number of recruits for Seongbuk-gu in 2024 is 442. Eligibility requirements are youth aged 18 to 34 (born between 1989 and 2006) who reside in Seongbuk-gu as of the announcement date (May 20, 2024), have worked or are working for at least 3 months in the past year, with a pre-tax monthly average income of 2.55 million KRW or less. Additionally, the income of dependents (parents or spouse if married) must be less than 100 million KRW annually (pre-tax monthly average of 8.34 million KRW), and assets must be under 900 million KRW. Youth who are self-employed or freelancers are also eligible to apply.
Applications can be submitted by visiting the local community service center in person or online through the Seoul Welfare Foundation’s asset-building support project URL (introduced for the first time this year). The final selected candidates will be announced on October 15 on the Seoul Welfare Foundation website.
The final selected participants will receive not only matching support for their savings to accumulate a lump sum but also program support such as financial education and financial consulting provided by the Seoul Welfare Foundation, which is expected to greatly aid in successful independence.
