Significant Expansion of Facilities for Disabled Users... Opening on July 13
On the 20th, Park Kyung-gwi, Mayor of Asan City, ordered at the weekly executive meeting to expand the duration of the "2nd Art Valley Asan Disabled Water Play Festival" to two days.
The 2nd Art Valley Asan Water Play Festival for People with Disabilities is expected to expand.
On the 20th, Mayor Park Kyung-gwi of Asan ordered at the weekly executive meeting to extend the duration of the 2nd Art Valley Asan Water Play Festival for People with Disabilities (Disability Water Play Festival) to two days.
On the same day, Mayor Park received a report on the improvement plan for the Sinjeongho outdoor swimming pool facilities.
The Sinjeongho water play area covers a total of 7,294㎡ and is equipped with various play facilities such as swimming pools, a toddler pool, a water tunnel, and water slides, as well as convenience facilities including a simple shower area, a storage room, and a nursing room.
The city plans to invest 278 million KRW by the end of next month to reinforce facilities such as male and female changing rooms, storage rooms, and equipment like wheelchairs and lifts for people with disabilities to enter the water, aiming to open the water play area from July 13.
In particular, various facilities will be installed for people with disabilities who usually find it difficult to enjoy water play, with the advantage that anyone can visit regardless of disability status.
At last August’s Disability Water Play Festival, about 400 people including people with disabilities, their families, and volunteers visited, receiving great response.
Mayor Park Kyung-gwi said, “Although last year’s Disability Water Play Festival was held for only one day, it received a good response. This year, please extend the festival period to two days and expand facilities for people with disabilities to make it the most accessible swimming pool for people with disabilities nationwide.”
