Popular Farm Parties Enjoyed in Yuja Jusanchi Region
Goheung-gun (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that on the 18th, a "Yuja Orchard Farm Party" was held in Yang-ri Village, Pungyang-myeon, attended by about 250 people including applicants who participated in the Goheung Yuja Tree Distribution Event, their families, and village residents.
This farm party event aimed to raise external awareness as a major yuja producing area and to revitalize the tourism industry. The event featured various programs such as ▲ attaching family name tags to "My Yuja Tree" ▲ prize draws including Goheung premium rice and yuja tea ▲ watching a congratulatory performance by the Fusion Gugak Queen ▲ challenging the Goheung Golden Bell to learn about Goheung's history and culture ▲ making yuja lemon hand wash ▲ enjoying delicious food containing yuja, which received great responses from participants.
This farm party also served as an opportunity to create unforgettable memories for urban residents by linking with Goheung’s tourist attractions, including the Nokdong Port drone show, promoting extended stay tourism.
The county plans to invite urban residents who received yuja trees to the "Goheung Yuja Festival" held in November during the yuja harvest season, where they can harvest yuja from their own trees and participate in hands-on yuja tea making experiences.
An urban resident who participated in this farm party with their child said, "It was very enjoyable to hang a name tag on the yuja tree I received and enjoy various farm parties. It was a meaningful time to fully appreciate the beauty of Goheung," adding, "I want to visit Goheung again during the fragrant harvest season to personally harvest yuja from the tree I received."
A representative from the Goheung Agricultural Technology Center said, "Through the Goheung yuja tree distribution event, we will do our best to widely promote yuja, Goheung’s representative specialty, to urban residents, increase interest, and help boost farmers' income."
Meanwhile, the Goheung yuja tree distribution event, which started in 2023 and is now in its second year, is planned to continue as part of the experiential tourism program linked to the "Establishment of an Agricultural Culture Income Model" in Yang-ri Village, Pungyang-myeon, supported for two years until 2025.
