Co-hosted by Korea Institute of Energy Research on the 22nd at 7 PM
The National Gwangju Science Museum (Director Lee Jeong-gu) announced on the 20th that it will hold a public science lecture on the theme of energy in collaboration with the Korea Institute of Energy Research at 7 p.m. on the 22nd.
The lecture, held at the National Gwangju Science Museum's Imagination Hall, is a special lecture linked to the 2024 Gwangju Science Invention Festival titled "The World of Energy through Science and Invention," and will be conducted under the theme "Making Electric Vehicle Batteries that Protect the Environment."
Woo Joong-je, director of the Gwangju Eco-friendly Energy Research Center, has been invited to give a lecture on the future of the electric vehicle market, the composition and operating principles of batteries for electric vehicles, and more.
Director Woo earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, completed postdoctoral research at Argonne National Laboratory, and is currently serving as the director of the Gwangju Eco-friendly Energy Research Center at the Korea Institute of Energy Research.
He researches materials for electric vehicle batteries and the reuse of batteries after use.
This lecture, which is free and open to everyone from children to adults, requires prior reservation on the National Gwangju Science Museum website for on-site admission.
Han Soo-min, a researcher at the Science Culture Office of the National Gwangju Science Museum, said, "As global environmental issues emerge, this will be an interesting lecture where attendees can learn about the latest science and technology in the eco-friendly field to solve environmental problems, as well as the future and trends of the electric vehicle market."
