Senior Government Officials Reaffirm Commitment to Leading by Example in Integrity
Sacheon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 20th that it held the first Anti-Corruption Integrity Promotion Team meeting to realize a transparent and trustworthy city of integrity.
The Integrity Promotion Team is composed of senior officials, including Mayor Park Dongsik as the head, the vice mayor, and directors of departments and bureaus. The team serves as the driving force for promoting Sacheon City's integrity policies.
In addition, the team takes the lead in building a foundation for anti-corruption and integrity promotion and fostering integrity leadership by sharing and inspecting integrity policies, identifying improvement measures for vulnerable areas, and expressing integrity pledges by high-ranking public officials.
The meeting shared the progress of anti-corruption and integrity policies for 2024, reported on the achievements in the first half of the year, presented plans for the second half, and discussed ways to improve anti-corruption and integrity initiatives.
In particular, participants explored improvement measures by identifying vulnerable areas to corruption and had time to share and discuss practical and diverse opinions to maintain the top grade in the comprehensive integrity evaluation for public institutions.
Mayor Park Dongsik said, "I ask senior officials to take the lead and set an example in creating a culture of integrity in public service," and urged them to make their utmost efforts in implementing anti-corruption and integrity policies.
