Icheon Cheonggang Culture Industry University to Host the First 'Haewol Animation Festival' on the 25th

Various Animation Experience Programs Provided

The 'Haewol Animation Festival' will be held for the first time on the 25th at Cheonggang Culture Industry University in Icheon.

This festival is a regionally linked cultural and arts festival organized through collaboration between Icheon City, Cheonggang Culture Industry University, and Majang-myeon. It was prepared to revitalize the local economy by involving students and local residents together.

The festival will feature a total of 18 diverse animation-related experience programs, including mixed reality (MR)-based experiences, Cintiq experiences, cosplay competitions, and Mario Home Circuit tournaments.

At the venue, there will be various sales booths showcasing students' comics, animation, games, and fusion creations, popular character goods, character desserts, local foods, and food trucks. There will also be promotional booths for Majang-myeon and the Special Forces. A special lecture by Professor Mike Nguyen, who was an animator at Universal Studios, Warner Bros., and DreamWorks, is also being planned.

During the festival, independent animations will be screened in two indoor theaters and an outdoor night screening venue. Performances by the Korean voice acting team of Disney Animation, 'M.A.D', and animation OST singer Lee Hee-joo will also take place.

Kim Kyung-hee, mayor of Icheon, said, "Since we have prepared a variety of attractions, food, and experience programs related to animation, we ask for the interest and participation of many people who are interested in animation."
