Posted Apology on Official Fan Cafe
"I Will Return Home After the Investigation Is Over"
Trot singer Kim Ho-joong (33), who is under investigation for hit-and-run charges, posted an apology on his official fan cafe. Some fans left comments seemingly in support of him, drawing attention. On the afternoon of the 19th, Kim Ho-joong bowed his head and said on the official fan cafe, "I sincerely apologize for causing great hurt to the pride of our family with this incident," adding, "I am very well aware that even one drink means I should not be behind the wheel."
He continued, "It is the mark of an adult to understand, even without experiencing it firsthand, that many family members are hurting because of my foolish judgment. I truly hate my foolish self," but also added, "What good is it if a person who has committed a wrong speaks at length? I am still under investigation, and once all the results come out after the investigation, I will return to this home."

He went on to say, "If I am not to betray the dreams of my family, I think there is nothing but to live diligently," and concluded his message with, "I will engrave each word deeply in my heart as I live."
Some fans who read Kim Ho-joong’s apology left comments to comfort him, such as "Do parents abandon their children just because they make mistakes?", "I will not let go of my family’s hand," "Don’t blame yourself and stay strong," and "Please come home safely."
Meanwhile, on the same day, Kim Ho-joong officially admitted to drunk driving through a statement from his agency, Saenggak Entertainment. The agency stated, "(Kim Ho-joong) will sincerely cooperate with the police investigation," and admitted, "Our company committed an irreversible mistake with the wrong belief that we had to protect the artist."
Kim Ho-joong is accused of hitting a taxi coming from the opposite direction on a road in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, around 11:40 p.m. on the 9th, and fleeing the scene (violation of the Road Traffic Act for failure to stop after an accident), among other charges.
It is reported that Kim Ho-joong’s manager, Mr. A, appeared at the police station three hours after the accident wearing the clothes Kim Ho-joong had been wearing and testified that he was the one who caused the accident. At the time of the accident, the agency claimed that Kim Ho-joong had not been drinking, but the urine test results from the National Forensic Service (NFS), requested by the Gangnam Police Station, determined that Kim Ho-joong had consumed alcohol before the accident.
The police are considering adding drunk driving charges against Kim Ho-joong and plan to expand the investigation into the agency’s attempt to cover up the incident.
