The KOSPI rose, recovering the 2750 level, driven by simultaneous net buying from foreigners and institutions.
As of 9:35 AM on the 20th, the KOSPI was trading at 2750.75, up 26.13 points (0.96%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, foreigners and institutions net bought 88.2 billion KRW and 133.1 billion KRW respectively. Meanwhile, individuals net sold 217.2 billion KRW.
By sector, food and beverages rose 4.77%, and transportation and warehousing jumped 2.09%. Additionally, electrical and electronics, finance, and manufacturing sectors increased by more than 1%. Conversely, service industries, pharmaceuticals, construction, and textiles and apparel showed slight declines.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics traded at 78,800 KRW, up 1,400 KRW (1.81%) from the previous day. Shinhan Financial Group surged 4.19%, and KB Financial Group also rose 2.87%. SK Hynix and Hyundai Motor Company increased by more than 1%. On the other hand, NAVER and LG Chem declined by more than 1%.
The KOSDAQ recorded 848.27, down 6.79 points (0.79%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, individuals and foreigners are net selling 20.8 billion KRW and 23.8 billion KRW respectively. Meanwhile, institutions net bought 49.5 billion KRW.
By sector, chemicals and information devices are rising by more than 1%. Conversely, pharmaceuticals fell 4.96%, and non-metallic minerals and digital contents declined by more than 1%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM traded at the same 212,500 KRW as the previous day. HLB plunged 28.61%, and Pearl Abyss also fell 1.50%. On the other hand, Enchem rose 4.98%, and EO Technics and RIGAChem Bio increased by more than 2%.
