Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 20th that the first session of the short-term program ‘WEro’ under the Youth Challenge Support Project has been successfully completed, and applications for the first session of the mid-term program are open until the 22nd.

The Youth Challenge Support Project is a policy designed to motivate young people who are not engaged in job-seeking activities by providing programs such as close counseling, employment competency enhancement, and confidence recovery. Additionally, participants receive an incentive of 500,000 KRW per 5 weeks based on their program participation. After the program ends, follow-up employment support services and continuous policy information are provided in connection with the National Employment Support System.

Depending on the type of participation, the courses are divided into ‘5 weeks (short-term), 15 weeks (mid-term), and 25 weeks (long-term)’. Eunpyeong-gu operates the short-term course under the brand name ‘WEro’ and the mid- and long-term courses under ‘The WEro’ through its own branding.

Eunpyeong-gu has been running the Youth Challenge Support Project for four years since 2021. The program targets young people who have no work experience of six months or more or who have graduated from high school, university, or equivalent educational backgrounds.

Meanwhile, the first session of ‘WEro’ began with a ‘group counseling’ program designed to boost confidence and foster bonds among participants. Over five weeks, programs such as ‘Lifestyle Improvement’ for better eating habits and ‘Interview Skills’ including employment photo shoots and personal color diagnosis were conducted.

Mayor Kim Mi-kyung said, “I hope young people who have faced difficulties in job seeking will gain vitality through this project,” and added, “We will spare no effort to provide multifaceted support so that young people can gain confidence in planning their future.”
