Dongjak-gu Provides Real-Time Village Bus Arrival Information... Expands Guide Electronic Display Boards

Introduction of Specialized Design for 'Dongjak-gu Type Bus Information Display Terminals'... Installed at 15 Stops and Expanded in the Second Half of This Year -

Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced that it will promote the installation of the 'Dongjak-gu Type Village Bus Information Terminal' to enhance the convenience of village bus users and improve the public transportation environment.

The Dongjak-gu Type Village Bus Information Terminal (BIT, Bus Information Terminal) is a device that provides real-time information such as bus arrival times and weather at the respective bus stops via an electronic display. It incorporates the design using Dongjak-gu's BI to improve visibility and readability.

The district plans to install bus information terminals at 15 village bus stops selected through on-site surveys, considering the average daily number of passengers, number of routes, and residents' demands.

The terminals will be installed throughout the neighborhood, including areas around subway stations such as Noryangjin Station, Sangdo Station, and Isu Station, as well as schools and residential alleys, to alleviate the vague waiting inconveniences experienced by village bus users.

By July, the district will invest about 120 million KRW from its budget to initially install 15 units and plans to gradually expand the terminals by securing additional project funds.

Additionally, in March, the district installed a new type of 'Dongjak-gu Type Boarding Platform' at five aging village bus stops, equipped with shelters, air conditioners/heaters, heated seats, and bus information terminals, featuring a unique design.

By the end of this year, the district plans to newly establish five more village bus boarding platforms and renovate old and damaged transportation facilities to realize transportation welfare for residents.

Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, stated, “We will enhance residents' convenience in using public transportation by expanding the installation of bus information terminals at village bus stops,” and added, “We will continue to strive to improve transportation services that residents can directly experience.”
