Started in 2000, the 'Global Trade Internship' program is a leading domestic overseas internship program that produced a total of 2,328 graduates until 2020, just before it was temporarily suspended due to COVID-19.
Any university student in their third year or above with Korean nationality can apply through the KITA Trade Academy website. About 20 interns who pass the interview and are finally selected will receive three weeks of local adaptation training and education on trade practices, overseas marketing, and business manners at the Trade Academy, and from August, they will be dispatched to 12 countries including the United States, Germany, Indonesia, and China.
They will gain experience in various trade practical tasks for six months at local subsidiaries of Korean companies and KITA overseas branches. Jung Hee-cheol, Secretary General of the Trade Academy, said, "We will support many talents who will lead the next generation of trade to take on challenges and demonstrate their potential on a broader stage."
