The joint inspection team composed of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Seoul City, Jungnang District Office, Jungnang Police Station, and Jungnang Fire Station conducts on-site safety inspections... Thoroughly checking risk factors within the event venue... Reviewing measures to reduce crowd density and the deployment of safety management personnel
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) conducted a joint safety inspection at the festival site on the 17th, one day before the '2024 Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival.'
A joint inspection team was formed, including the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Seoul Metropolitan Government, Jungnang Police Station, Jungnang Fire Station, Jungnang-gu Office, Korea Electric Power Corporation, Korea Electrical Safety Corporation, and Korea Gas Safety Corporation. They thoroughly checked six areas, from fire safety to facilities and gas, making every effort to ensure the safety of visitors.
The joint inspection team walked approximately 1.8 km from the 1st Yeonyukgyo Bridge to Mukdongcheon Rose Garden, inspecting various spots at the festival site. They checked safety facilities at the 1st Yeonyukgyo Bridge, booths at Junghwa Sports Park, traditional market booths, and safety facilities at the 2nd Yeonyukgyo Bridge to confirm there were no hazards within the event area.
In particular, since a large crowd is expected at the Grand Rose Festival on the 18th and 19th and the Jungnang Artist Festival on the 25th, they focused on measures to alleviate crowd density and safety plans around Junghwa Sports Park, a point prone to sudden crowding.
Additionally, to promptly respond to any emergencies that may occur at the festival, they checked the appropriate deployment of safety management personnel, the placement of rescue and first aid staff, and the securing of ambulance locations and movement routes.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, who attended the inspection, said, “We will ensure perfect safety management to prevent unpredictable accidents at a festival where many people gather,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure that visitors to the Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival can enjoy the festival safely.”
