Gyeongbuk TP Aims to Foster Local Talent and Drive Corporate Growth Simultaneously

Local Universities Lead Voluntary Participation in Industry-Academia Cooperation Through Interactive Communication, Collaboration, Mutual Growth, and Innovation

The "Innovation Governance Establishment Roundtable," hosted by Gyeongbuk Technopark and attended by heads of university-industry cooperation foundations from local universities, was held on the 17th at the Gyeongbuk TP seminar room.

This roundtable was attended by more than 20 people, including Jo Jiyeon, the People Power Party's elected representative, as well as heads and officials from university-industry cooperation foundations in Gyeongsan. They discussed strategies for regional development, such as establishing an organic cooperation system and discovering new projects to overcome the crisis of local extinction and the decrease in student numbers at local universities.

During the roundtable, there was a heated discussion on topics such as the need to strengthen the intermediary role between local governments, universities, and industries; the discovery of joint new projects; the identification and linkage of companies with sustainable growth potential; and the establishment of an organic network system through institutions to maximize university-industry cooperation as a regional hub.

In addition, participants reached a consensus on the need for effective governance for regional development through continuous roundtables and seminars, as well as customized talent cultivation strategies to create high-quality jobs.

Ryu Jongwoo, head of the University-Industry-Research Cooperation Center at Gyeongbuk Technopark, said, "We will do our best to contribute to nurturing local talent and the growth of companies by establishing stable governance, resolving various local issues, and revitalizing university-industry cooperation."

The Gyeongbuk TP University-Industry-Research Cooperation Center proactively reorganized its structure for university-industry-research linkage in March this year, ahead of other technoparks nationwide. The center is also actively engaged in discovering and implementing new projects for university-industry-research cooperation with universities in Gyeongbuk, carrying out regionally based innovation projects (RIS), and building and mediating internal and external cooperation systems.
