Hun Manet Prime Minister to Assist Policy Decision-Making
Lee Joong-geun, Chairman of Booyoung Group, has been appointed as an advisor to Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia.
According to Booyoung Group on the 19th, Chairman Lee received the advisory appointment certificate from Prime Minister Hun Manet on the 17th at Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul. The appointment ceremony was attended by Sun Chandol, Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia and Vice Chairman of the Development Committee, Cham Nimol, Minister of Commerce of Cambodia, Chiring Botum Langsai, Cambodian Ambassador to Korea, as well as officials from Cambodian ministries and Booyoung Group.

As an advisor, Chairman Lee is expected to assist in Cambodia's economic development and Prime Minister Hun Manet's policy decision-making. Even before his appointment, Chairman Lee had been discussing housing policies, low birthrate issues, and the establishment and development of public transportation networks with the Cambodian leadership, including Prime Minister Hun Manet. Last year, he was awarded the National Merit Medal, the highest honor of the Kingdom of Cambodia, by former Prime Minister Hun Sen for his contributions to Cambodia's national development and the promotion of friendship between Korea and Cambodia.
Booyoung Group is engaged in various social contribution activities in Cambodia. So far, it has donated 1,300 buses, over 3,000 digital pianos, and about 40,000 educational blackboards, and has contributed funds for the construction of 300 elementary schools. To improve housing conditions in Cambodia, Booyoung is also constructing 'Booyoung Town,' an apartment complex with 15,000 units in the capital Phnom Penh. Currently, construction of a mixed-use complex including 1,474 apartment units has been completed and is about to be sold. Within Booyoung Town, the 'Ujeong Cambodia School,' encompassing daycare centers, kindergartens, elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as a nursing college, is scheduled to open.
