Moon's daughter Moon Dahye "Prosecutors, please return our son's learning tablet" (Comprehensive)

"They Are Vulgar, But We Are Dignified"
Prosecutors "Conducting Careful Investigation Within Necessary Limits"

Moon Jae-in, the former president's ex-son-in-law, Seo Mo, has been embroiled in allegations of preferential hiring by an airline, while his daughter Moon Da-hye claimed that "(the prosecution) investigated my family, acquaintances, and even my high school classmates, and even forced a warrant to seize a lease contract for an apartment."

On the 17th, Moon posted on social networking service (SNS) X, "Is there no relevant issue with the late actor Lee Seon-gyun’s protection law?" She made this statement. Regarding the exposure of her acquaintances to the media during the investigation of the allegations surrounding her, she expressed discomfort, saying, "Leaking to the media... precious acquaintances."

Moon also mentioned Michelle Obama’s motto, saying, "Even if they act lowly, let us proceed with dignity. 忍忍忍 (endure, endure, endure)." She added, "Hey, please just return our son’s learning tablet."

Seo, the former son-in-law of former President Moon, was hired as an executive director of Thai VietJet, a Thai low-cost airline established in July 2018 with funds from Lee Sang-jik, a former lawmaker, despite having no practical experience in the airline industry. This occurred during the early Moon Jae-in administration.

The prosecution suspects that Lee, the founder of Eastar Jet, may have hired Seo in exchange for the position of chairman of the Small and Medium Business Corporation. They are currently summoning and investigating officials who worked at the Blue House and government ministries at the time.

Meanwhile, a former contract administrative staff member A at the Blue House was subjected to a travel ban. During the investigation, it was found that A had conducted significant financial transactions with Moon Da-hye. A is known to be the child of a regular designer for Kim Jung-sook, the wife of former President Moon, and was reportedly responsible for protocol duties for Mrs. Kim at the Blue House in the past.

Regarding Moon’s claims, the Jeonju District Prosecutors’ Office, which is investigating the case, stated in a press release, "Regarding the allegations of ‘Lee Sang-jik’s improper support for the president’s children’s relocation to Thailand,’ which was reported in December 2021, we are conducting a careful investigation within the necessary limits to ascertain the substantive truth based on warrants lawfully issued by the court."

The prosecution specifically explained, "Among the tablets found during the execution of the warrant, tablets clearly identified as educational devices for Moon’s children were excluded from seizure," and added, "Only items directly or indirectly related to the criminal facts were seized and are under investigation."

The prosecution also added, "We conducted investigations by contacting witnesses who had confirmed unusual financial transactions with Moon to verify the circumstances."
