Flexible Commuting Hours, Staggered Work Hours, and Half-Day Leave Options
EcoPro announced on the 19th that it has taken steps to improve the working environment by allowing young employees to adjust their commuting hours individually and introducing a half-day leave system to encourage self-development.
EcoPro recently implemented the 'staggered commuting system' and the 'half-half day leave system.'
The staggered commuting system allows employees to freely adjust their commuting hours within a 2-hour window while adhering to the basic work schedule of 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, and 40 hours per week. For example, an employee who previously commuted from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM can start work 2 hours earlier at 6:30 AM and leave at 3:30 PM. Alternatively, they can start 1 hour later at 9:30 AM and leave at 6:30 PM.
The company explained that this system is intended to allow employees to start work early and use their free time after work for self-development.
The half-half day leave system divides the existing half-day leave of 4 hours into 2-hour increments. In situations where employees need to attend to personal matters for 1 to 2 hours without necessarily taking a half-day leave, they can use this half-half day leave.
EcoPro also newly introduced the 'Plus 3 Days Leave Grant System.' This system grants an additional 3 days of paid leave when employees use 100% of their annual leave. The plus leave must be used within the same year.
For example, if an EcoPro employee who was granted a total of 15 days of annual leave uses all of it by November of the current year, they will receive 3 additional paid leave days to be used by December of the same year. If only 2 of the 3 additional days are used and 1 day remains, it will not be carried over to the next year nor compensated financially.
EcoPro conducted a detailed survey of employees' leave patterns when introducing the plus leave system and found that many employees tend to save 2 to 3 days of annual leave anticipating various events in December, which led to the adoption of this system.
By utilizing 2 to 3 days of annual leave along with the plus 3 days leave system, employees can take up to 9 consecutive days off, including 5 working days and the weekends before and after, which is expected to receive a warm response from employees.
An EcoPro representative said, "We have introduced various work systems to encourage self-development through autonomous work hour management and to create a healthy work culture where work and family life can coexist."
